Carolina is awesome. Very knowledgeable and patient to beginners. I made a few rings under her guidance but with complete creative freedom. I'd love to stay in touch with her in the future for any advice I might need as I continue to make jewelry. I'd definitely take her class again.

Caroline is a natural born teacher. She explains everything clearly, both upfront and then by demo, walks around the class to ensure we're all "getting it" and staying on time so we can finish--and she's lovely.

I'm brand new to jewelry making and I truly appreciated the personalized approach that Alzerina. It was a very small class in her apartment studio and she was very hands-on. She allowed us to specify the type of knowledge we wanted to learn and even encouraged us to bring broken jewelry to fix. I LOVED that part about the class b/c since most of my jewelry is the same, I'm not able to fix them myself with the right tools. Bonus - she works with you to create your own piece of jewelry in a technique of your choice and for a beginner, I absolutely loved the pair of earrings I created. I highly recommend this class and looking forward to taking it again!

Jewelry making is the craft of creating decorative items for wearing. There are various types of jewelry, including watches, bracelets, brooches, and earrings. These items can be made from nearly any material, such as clay, gemstones, beads, glass, metal, plastic, and many more. The tools and techniques required for jewelry making vary depending on the material you choose to work with and the type of jewelry you wish to make. While learning how to make your own jewelry may seem intimidating, the craft doesn’t have to be complicated. There are in fact many techniques and points of entry available for pure beginners.

Why You Should Learn Jewelry Making in NYC

Engaging in a creative hobby can be highly rewarding. Many individuals report feelings of accomplishment and increased happiness. Some people find the physical focus of crafting to be meditative and stress relieving. These effects can combine to boost the immune system.

Many people who start a new hobby turn to physical or online communities for advice and encouragement. These communities become sources of support that also help to decrease feelings of isolation. Virtual Jewelry Making Classes & Schools

Online classes are accessible for many students due to the ability to take them from anywhere so long as a reliable internet connection is available. Students are often able to choose from more topics than might exist via physical classes nearest them. Online classes also commonly offer flexible scheduling options and they don’t feature the commute required of in-person classes.

Though online courses offer a lot of conveniences, they sometimes can’t replicate the hands-on nature of in-person classrooms. For instance, students may need to purchase their own crafting materials. For online jewelry making classes in particular, some courses only offer a live demonstration of jewelry crafting while others seek to emulate in-person workshops by providing students with a materials list to follow along. Some intensive workshops may be better attended in person so students have full access to studio tools.

Some popular virtual CourseHorse jewelry making courses include the Hammered Earring course. Students will view a live walkthrough of the crafting process, including forging, soldering, and finishing. Time is allotted for live questions and answers. Students will receive a materials list after class to continue learning on their own.

In the Wax Carving Course, students learn how to design and cast jewelry by molding wax models. Students receive a materials list before class so they can learn alongside the instructor. Participants of all skill levels are welcome to attend.
