What you'll learn in this beginner photography class:
Everything you need to know in one day! We get you off of AUTO in by the afternoon. Learn how to freeze motion for sports photography, have the perfect aperture for a portrait, and an immaculate ISO for landscapes. Know your camera better in this one day class.
This One Day experience introduces you step-by-step to an understanding of:
Required Materials: Registered students are asked to bring their Digital SLR camera or mirrorless camera, camera manual (if you have one), memory card, fresh battery and note-taking material.
The day starts at 10am and ends at 3pm, allowing for a 45 minute lunch break. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch or choose from a variety of nearby options.
This One Day experience introduces you step-by-step to an understanding of:
- Essential parts of your camera including: lenses, focus & zoom, diopter, mirror, shutter and sensor
- Basic Camera functions including: ISO, shutter, aperture, white balance
- How your camera reads light (exposure)
- Using the playback, delete functions
- Memory and Raw vs Jpeg
- Techniques for awesome composition (take better photos)
- And SO much more...

Events* at the school are subject to cancellation 24 hours before the first class due to under-enrollment. A full credit or refund will be issued.
Refunds/Withdrawals:
Due to our commitment to instructors, materials and other students, the following refund policy applies:
At this time, we are unable to offer make-up classes or switch classes during the week due to the full classes and small facility. Thank you for making arrangements to attend the class you chose at the time of your registration. If you are unable to attend your current weekly class, we hope you will consider registering again at a later time.
*The term “event” includes classes, lectures, seminars, workshops, critiques and demos. Basically, anything that you sign up to take.
**Business days are Monday through Friday.

- A 100% refund of your registration fee will be issued if an event is canceled by the school.
- A 100% refund will be issued if you cancel your registration more than three full business days** (more than 72 hours) before the event start time. Please email [email protected] to cancel.
- A 50% refund will be issued if you cancel your registration within one to three full business days (24-72 hours)** before the event start time.
- No refunds will be issued within 24 hours prior to the start of an event or after an event has started, regardless of attendance.
- Funds may not be forwarded to any subsequent session or date or other offering due to the limitations of space. Class space may not be transferred to another person at any time.

This class was awesome! I knew very little about photography and basic camera settings and by the end of the class, I felt like a professional. The Instructor was very knowledgeable about different cameras and types of photography. We also did some small exercises that made us understand the points he was making in class. Overall, this is a great value and worth every minute!
