Green Street Studios

Green Street Studios (GSS) was founded in 1991 by Ruth Birnberg, Paula Josa Jones, Cheri Opperman, Marcus Schulkind, and Pam White. 

Green Street Studios is a center for movement and dance that enables artists, students, and audiences to explore the boundless potential of physical movement and the expressive capacity of the human body. Through its support of both established and emerging professionals, Green Street Studios provides students of all levels, and the wider public, the opportunity to explore and establish connections of their own to the traditions and commitments of disciplined movement.

Through keen and responsible fiscal management that utilizes a hybrid financial structure, where strong earned revenue sources help to support our non-profit business units that classically rely on contributed revenue, GSS will maintain a grounded existence with adaptability in supporting continued artistic play and experimentation, artistic and operational growth, and facility and technology upgrades and expansion.
