Question from Wedyan A.
Hi, l want to ask about the place do you have for man or only women? I need classes swimming especially for women.
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! The school does not have women-only classes. Thanks.
Question from Jhonnatan H.
I have a pair of swimming shorts with me, but is learning to swim shirtless a requirement? I’m not comfortable getting in the water without a shirt, so I was wondering if I can get in the class and into the water throughout the lessons duration with a shirt? Also, do we need to bring anything else, for example, like goggles? Thanks!
Answer from Georgia C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Jhonnata! Wearing a shirt in the water is fine. Goggles are optional and really depend on whether or not you want them - if you think you are more likely to feel confident putting your head under water and opening your eyes with goggles on, you can bring them but many people don’t use them, especially when you’re just learning the basics in this class. This is a beginner class, so the instructor will take it as slow as you need it to be.
Question from anonymous
If I wear contacts, how does that impact swimming?
Answer from Georgia C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! Swimming with contacts can result in eye infections, irritation and potentially sight-threatening conditions. Contact lenses should not be exposed to any kind of water, including tap water and water in swimming pools, oceans, lakes, hot tubs and showers. Hope that helps!

This class is a great place to begin if you can’t swim at all, or if you were casually taught and never learned the mechanics of a freestyle. They separate the group into two by ability, so those that have more fundemtnals can move at a quicker, technical pace. Those that are hesitant to be in the water are eased in at a pace that is comfortable for them. Great, friendly instructors!
