Coil, pinch, and slab your way to a variety of projects both functional and fun. This supportive and lively class is suited for artists of all levels and experience. New students will learn a variety of hand building techniques while the more experienced artist will continue developing their individual style. All projects will be fired and glazed.
Students will learn basics of hand-building with clay using techniques in pinching, coiling, and slab-building. Various projects that will be created are masks, pinched and coiled pottery, and animal/creature sculptures. All work will be bisque/glaze fired.
Students will spend two weeks learning to throw plates, bowls, cups and other creations on the potter’s wheel, one week learning to finish (“trim”) their thrown work, and one week glazing. All work will be bisque/glaze fired.
