Master the art of creating authentic pierogi, the traditional Eastern European pastry filled with savory and sweet ingredients. In this hands-on culinary class, you will prepare and taste three distinct varieties including Potato and Cheese with Caramelized Onion, Sweet Potato with Sage Brown Butter, and Mushroom and Herb. Additionally, the class explores numerous other flavor combinations and filling variations.
You will craft pierogi dough from scratch and develop perfectly seasoned fillings using authentic techniques. The workshop teaches methods for filling and sealing pierogi that apply directly to other filled pasta preparations such as ravioli, dumplings, and tortellini. You will master the cooking process to achieve tender, creamy interiors with lightly crisp and caramelized outer layers, served elegantly with complementary sauces and garnishes.
