What you'll learn in this figure drawing class:

Through construction of a head ecorche we explore the anatomy and structure of the head, neck and facial features. Working with human skulls as a model, we sculpt a life-size skull in plasteline on a wire armature. We then create the mouth, eye, nose and ear. Finally facial muscles and some neck and throat muscles are added. The instructor places most of the emphasis on the shape of the bones and the features of the mouth, eye, nose and ear.

Clay and armature included.

Materials List

Please bring a notebook.

You should also have an anatomy book. I recommend: Atlas of Human Anatomy, Steven Rogers Peck, Oxford University Press

Q&A

Q: Can I make up a class if I miss one?
A: No, there are no makeup classes. Because art is taught with demonstrations and demonstrations are time consuming, if one person misses the class each week, the instructor would spend the first part of each class repeating the demonstration from last week before moving on to the next lesson, which isn't fair to the students who attended. That said, most of our classes are taught atelier style. If there is a demonstration during the particular session, after the demonstration, the instructor goes to each student to work with them on a one-on-one basis. During this time, the instructor can work with you if you missed the previous week to talk and explain what to do.

Still have questions? Ask the community.

Refund Policy
100% refund will be issued up to seven days after the first class. After this, no refund will be issued.

MAKE-UP POLICY
Unfortunately, we do not offer makeup classes. The instructor can tell them what they missed. Most of our classes are taught atelier style. If there is a demonstration during the particular session, after the demonstration the instructor goes to each student to work with them on a one-to-one basis. During this time the instructor can work with the student who missed the previous week, talk with them and explain what to do.
