Mastering Composition: Beyond the Rule of Thirds
Ever feel trapped in your frame? Learn new techniques to take your photos beyond the constraints of the typical camera frame. You'll gain a new perspective and new skills to take your photography work to the next level.
Part 1: Learn new techniques and investigate when and how to use the techniques, from special perspectives to dramatic positioning of the subject. At the end of Part 1, you’ll receive photo assignments to complete for discussion during Part 2.
Part 2: This session is a critique of the photos you took during the week with group input, demonstrations and recommendations for post-processing.
Requirements: Camera, familiarity with your camera's core settings: ISO, depth of field, and shutter speed and using aperture adjustments to control depth of field. A zoom lens is recommended but not required.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Part 1: We'll learn new techniques and investigate when and how to use the techniques to take your photos beyond the constraints of the typical camera frame, from special perspectives to dramatic positioning of the subject.
Exercise assignments: At the end of session 1, you will receive photo exercises to complete during the week between sessions. Prior to session 2, you’ll receive instructions to send your images to Rich.
Part 2: This session is a critique of the photos you took during the week with group input, demonstrations and recommendations for post-processing.
