Description
What you'll learn in this printing class:
This unique and beautiful developing out process has a sporadic and fascinating history as a platinotype substitute. This process produces unique and subtle split and mono tones, ranging from reds, purples, and blues. A kallitype print requires a developer as opposed to both the brown and argyrotype processes.
In this 8 week workshop, particular options will be discussed and experimented with, producing a wide variety of outcomes. The course materials are broken down so that students of all levels will understand how to use this methodology. Much of the process's color variables are dependent upon how the image is developed or toned.
The workshop is open to artists of any experience level. Students are welcome to bring negatives as well as digital files to print with.

Refund Policy
In the event a student must cancel their registration for a workshop, they may do so any time before and up to 14 days prior to the workshop, and will receive a 100% refund of workshop cost plus any material fees. In the event a student must cancel attendance from a workshop after the registration deadline (14 days prior to the start of the workshop), this will be considered a withdrawal. The workshop costs and materials fees are not refundable but a 20% discount will be given toward another workshop.
There are situations that arise in which a workshop may need to be cancelled. In the event of a cancellation, students will be notified as soon as possible. Students are entitled to a full refund for the workshop cost and materials fee up to one week prior to workshop. A credit can also be given in the amount paid for the class to use at a later date. Penumbra is not responsible for any non-refundable travel costs (such as airfare, train tickets or accommodation costs). We would advise you to consider purchasing travel insurance.
Due to the intensive nature of our workshops, we cannot offer makeup sessions outside of workshop time or in future workshops. Instructors are not required to bring students up to date during scheduled workshop time for missed days or lateness. Refunds will not be given for absences or no shows.
