What you'll learn in this clay class:

Not your grandma’s polymer clay!

Reinvented and rediscovered by today’s makers, this versatile material comes in many colors, can be blended to make any color, and can be used to make a multitude of patterns that imitate millefiori, mosaic tiles, wood, stone, or even ceramics. You can fire it in a toaster oven! Bring your creativity and your ’80s inspiration and make some very cool jewelry or small objects.

Polymer Clay
Reviewed by Anonymous on 4/3/2020
Class is very good in person but when it went virtual for the last three classes we lost our time to create. Teacher did demos but not the same. And 2 1/2 hour course went to less than an hour on Zoom. Had I not taken this class previously it would have been mostly a waste of time and money. Teacher did best she could under circumstances.

This was my first try at polymer clay, and the teacher, Valerie Hall, was wonderful. The atmosphere was friendly and generous, and Valerie found time to assist all of us. I left each class with a completed project in hand and new knowledge of various techniques. I gained the confidence to work on my own, and plan to attend more of Valerie's classes, both to learn and have fun. Also, the 92nd Street Y's work studio and facilities are excellent. All the tools we needed were there, and the room was bright, clean and organized.
