What you'll learn in this beginner sewing class:

Get introduced to the basics of sewing, then sew your own tote bag, all in one day!

This project-based, one-time three-hour beginner sewing class teaches you sewing basics and will have you threading a machine, loading a bobbin and sewing straight or curved seams in no time. You'll receive careful explanations and step-by-step instructions to assemble your project. And in three short hours later...you’ll walk out the door with a tote bag made by you in a day (1/2 a day really!)

This is the perfect workshop for all you super busy people who've always wanted to learn to sew, but just can't find the time for a long class. It’s also a great stepping-stone for one of our other class offerings.

Attended: Learn to Sew in a Day: Tote Bag
The class was great! Wish it was clear that we would need to bring our own fabric or pay $10. I completely missed that. Otherwise everything was great!

Wanda is phenomenal. Very clear, very attentive and very funny.

Attended: Learn to Sew in a Day: Tote Bag
Theoretically a zero, because the teacher never showed up or contacted me (after I had travelled an hour to get to Brooklyn), and the school didn't know why. Very frustrating. Caveat emptor.

Attended: Learn to Sew in a Day: Tote Bag
I was late because of the subways being delayed, and I was woefully unprepared for class. I did not bring a fabric, and Wanda, our instructor could not have been more accommodating. I loved this class and would recommend it to anyone.

Attended: Learn to Sew in a Day: Tote Bag
Daniel was a great instructor. Encouraging and stern when he needed to be. I had not used my sewing machine in 18 years so this was a great refresher course for me. Originally I was skeptical that I would actually finish my tote bag in a three hour period but I did and so did everyone else. I would highly recommend.
