What you'll learn in this beginner sewing class:

In this 6-hour introductory course, students will learn the essential skills of sewing: how to use a sewing machine, basic pattern reading, and sewing construction while creating a simple project, such as a fully lined tote.

All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. This class doesn't include access to free Open Studio.

The Evening Series are short in-depth classes, focused on techniques and projects that students can easily continue exploring on their own, at their home (studio).

Note:
Wear clothing that can get messy!

All requests for refunds or class credits must be made in writing via email to [email protected] In addition to the timing guidelines above, we of course appreciate as much notice as possible when making any adjustments to registrations.

Coursehorse students will need to contact Coursehorse directly about cancellations or refunds. TAC cancellation policy will apply.

It was a very well constructed class — I felt I learnt how to handle a machine, troubleshoot and also understand how different fabrics behave. And it was lovely that we got to make a pretty tote bag, which I’m thrilled to use! The instructor was outstanding — she was thorough, well-paced, and extremely clear. I’d do more at the institute after this experience.

Lin was a great teacher! she taught the basics of the machine, and the class was small enough that we all had her attention when we needed it!
