I did a class with the instructor Laryssa and she was really amazing explaining everything in detail and being patient. In the end of the class, I was so comfortable with the machine that I ended up doing a model that they have of a denim bag. It was basically my first time with a sewing machine. I will definitely do more lessons!

It was my first class I'd have taken outside academics and my very first one from CourseHorse. So, I was a bit nervous. The class was excellent. My tutor was very nice and patient. She'd introduced me to the sewing machine and the infinite way of making things with different stitches. I enjoyed myself so much that I am currently saving for the introduction lessons, beginner 101 and hopefully I'll be able to join the intermediate classes and make my own coat!! But I'm thinking of taking the private tutor lesson again because I forgot a lot of stuff.

I’m not clear, does this sewing 101 (private) class (1 hr) teach enough that I would be able to take the beginner pattern class next?
Answer from Kristine F. Verified Educator
Hi Kathleen! In private lessons, we can teach anything you'd like and at your own pace. You could start a pattern-making lesson at any time. Whatever interests you! For the Beginner Pattern Making Class, I would recommend taking our Sewing 101 Class or taking a few private lessons to get really comfortable with the sewing machine first.
