Full Title: Introduction to Tofu – Vegan Cooking Class
Learn how to cook with a protein-rich, healthful superfood – tofu. For ages, tofu has been one of the most-loved foods in Japan for its health benefits and this versatile ingredient can be transformed into a variety of delicious food and dessert. This time, we will cook with Johnny Tofu, a popular silken tofu from Otokomae-Tofu in Kyoto, Japan, which can be purchased in New York. Among all types of tofu, the silken tofu has the highest water content with the smoothest texture. To make the most of this smooth and silky texture, we will cook creamy herbed tofu ricotta to make a gluten-free lasagna as well as a melt-in-mouth dark chocolate tofu pudding.
In this class, you will also learn:
Here is our ingredients line-up scheduled for the class.
The class is hands-on and we will all cook together and eat the food we made at the end of the class. It is always very interactive and a fun atmosphere. The event will be followed by a Japanese Vegan food festival at the same venue, so we hope you can join both to enjoy all the tasty plant-based food with us!
