There is a reason so many restaurants put Risotto on their menus - it’s not a dish most people attempt to cook at home! Risotto has a reputation for being fussy as it requires a lot of attention and stirring. However, Risotto really is the perfect dish for all seasons. All you need is to master the base technique and the possibilities are endless!
There's no better way to learn how to make the perfect Risotto than from our Master Italian Chef instructor.
Class will begin with an intro into the cultural significance of the dish you will be making, Risotto alla Milanese (from Milan). The key ingredient that makes this Risotto different from any other is the incorporation of saffron, giving it the perfect golden hue. Served with Cremini mushrooms, you will have the most delicious meal, which will be difficult to stumble upon anywhere other than the city of Milan itself.
By the end of this class, you will have gained the confidence to try mastering your own Risotto at home using only the best ingredients. Plus, you'll have learned new recipes that you'll be sure to practice making at home again and again.
And, Chef Gianluca decided that Risotto was not enough to teach you how to master in just one class. So he will be teaching you to make an Italian dessert that is nothing short of lit (pun intended). You will enjoy flambé peaches served with zabaglione sauce, covered in gato (caramel & nuts). Simply delicious!
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
