What you'll learn in this society class:

History Series: FDR-Four Freedoms as America Prepares for War / HIX319

From his election in November 1940 to December 7, 1941, Franklin Roosevelt had to walk a tightrope as Japan, Italy, and Germany invaded country after country, putting out the light of freedom around the world. How does he help the forces of liberty without involving America in a war of which some in the country (America First) do not want to be a part? From this great period of leadership, America's basic foundations will emerge.

Join us for this informative and exciting class. Suggested Readings:
  • A Blue Print for War: FDR and the Hundred Days that Mobilized America by Susan Dunn;
  • The Four Freedoms: Franklin D. Roosevelt and the Evolution of an American Idea by Jeffrey A. Engel, and;
  • No End Save Victory: How FDR Led the Nation in War by David Kaiser.
