What you'll learn in this museum tour:

Most people know City Hall Park as the center of city government, but did you know that British soldiers were once housed there during the Revolutionary War? Or that there was an almshouse and a prison right next door? Join us for a walking tour with archaeologist Alyssa Loorya to discover the hidden history of the park from its early Dutch beginnings through the present day. With more than 15 years of experience excavating in lower Manhattan, Loorya will share stories from the Park’s colorful history and insights into digging beneath Manhattan's bustling streets. The total length of the tour will be less than 3/4 of a mile.

Note that this walking tour will be taking place downtown at City Hall Park, attendees should meet at the fountain in the park. Tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be sold on site.

The Museum reserves the right to refused admission to latecomers.

For curator-led group tours:

Space is limited to 25 participants and advance registration is required.
Enrollment will close on Tuesday, October 1st at noon.
Check in with Visitors Services upon entering the museum to receive a designated tour sticker.
Meet the curator in the rotunda on the first floor under the Starlight chandelier.
Minimum enrollment must be reached or the event may be canceled by email notification on October 1st and fully refunded.
All sales are final.
