What you'll learn in this tax class:

The Executive Taxation Series is offered by the Zicklin School of Business in partnership with the Division of Continuing Professional and Professional Studies at Baruch College. Through this Executive Series, Baruch provides alumni and other members of the tax community with an opportunity to earn up to 24 hours of CPE in taxation over the course of three seminars that will take place in the Fall of 2018. The 2018 series will be led and moderated by our renowned Sidney Kess, Esq., CPA, JD, LLM and chair of the Executive Taxation Series. The October 9th program focus on the Impact of the New Tax Law. Sessions and Speakers will be announced shortly.

About the Conference Chair:
Sidney Kess, Esq., CPA, J.D., LL.M., AEP® (Distinguished), New York, NY

Sidney Kess, of Counsel to Kostelanetz & Fink, LLP and a Senior Consultant at Citrin Cooperman & Co., is a nationally renowned tax expert and author/coauthor of hundreds of tax books on financial and estate planning. He has written hundreds of AICPA tax workshops, audio and video programs, and is the recipient of the AICPA Distinguished Lecturer Award. Mr. Kess is often quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and other national publications. He was included in Accounting Today’s “100 Most Influential CPAs in the U.S.” as well as CPA Magazine’s “Most Influential CPAs in the U.S.”

Mr. Kess is the recipient of the AICPA’s “Special Recognition Award” for his many years of contributions to the AICPA’s Continuing Professional Education program and was elected to the Estate Planning Hall of Fame by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils for his distinguished service in the field of estate planning. He also received the AICPA’s Gold Medal Award for Distinguished Service (the highest award in the CPA profession), and was named the 2015 winner of the New York State CPA Society’s Dr. Emanuel Saxe Outstanding CPA in Education Award. Mr. Kess most recently was honored with the AICPA 2016 PFP Distinguished Service Award, which is granted annually to a member whose volunteer efforts have made significant contributions to the growth and advancement of the personal financial planning profession.

Mr. Kess received his JD from Harvard University School of Law, LLM from New York University Graduate School of Law and BBA from Baruch College.

Location: the event will take place at the Baruch College Conference Center in New York City. Further room information will be available upon registration.

Refund Policy
Students MUST submit a detailed written request to withdraw from a course, which CourseHorse will then forward on to the school. The request must state the reason of cancellation.

Refunds or credits are available: Full refund or credit if request to withdraw is made 3 business days before the first class session. 50% refund or credit if request to withdraw is made before the second class session. After the second class session no refunds or credits will be granted.

No refunds or credits will be issued for classes that meet four sessions or fewer. Classes include seminars, intensives and workshops.

All refunds will have a $25 processing fee deducted from the course refund as well as a $20 registration fee ($45 total).

When Baruch College cancels a course, refunds are made automatically. If for any reason the department cancels a session, then a make-up session will be offered.

COURSE WITHDRAWALS 

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must notify the CAPS Office in writing. Failure to complete a course, ceasing to attend class, notifying the instructor of your desire to withdraw, or general dissatisfaction with a course does not constitute a withdrawal and does not entitle you to a refund. Instructors are not permitted OR able to process withdrawals, transfers or refunds.

MAKE-UP POLICY

If a student misses a session, the department unfortunately does not authorize the student to make up that missed session in another section. If the instructor informs the student to visit another section of his class, then that is between the student and the instructor.
