What you'll learn in this cpr class:

This American Heart Association course builds on the foundation of CPR by teaching recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest, peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia, related pharmacology, management of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), and stroke. Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team is an essential part of the course. This class will teach the algorithms and methodology behind providing advanced cardiac life support; this is combined with hands-on practice with high fidelity simulation manikins and scenarios. Students must pass the written exam and skills exam to successfully pass and earn their ACLS certification. This class meets the original ACLS class requirement for 16 hours towards CME for NYS and NREMT.

Prerequisite: Students must have completed a CPR class and be a healthcare professional. Students must purchase and have the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support textbook.

School Notes: Please don't forget to bring a valid ID. Students registering on or after the first day of class shall be assessed a non-refundable late registration fee of $10.00.

Refund Policy

Students unable to attend the courses they have
registered for, must inform the Continuing Education department in writing that they wish to withdraw. Failure to complete the course DOES NOT constitute official withdrawal, nor does notification of the instructor. (This only applies to students that have directly registered through BMCC’s Continuing Education).

The lack of attendance alone DOES NOT entitle the student to a refund of tuition or the cancellation of tuition still due. 100% refund will be made to any registrant who submits a request in writing two (2) business days before the first session of the class; 50% refund before the second session of the class.   There will be no refund thereafter.  Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing.

We will not issue refunds for classes which have been postponed due to inclement weather or other circumstances beyond our control. We will make every effort to reschedule such classes.

If you purchased your class on Coursehorse, then our Refund & Cancellation policy applies to your purchase. If you are entitled to a refund, or have any questions, please visit the Coursehorse site in New York and contact their customer service team.

Should BMCC Continuing Education cancel a class that you purchased through CourseHorse, you will receive a full refund or credit. If you prefer a refund, the administration of BMCC’s Continuing Education will notify CourseHorse of the refund request. Students can also contact CourseHorse directly with any questions.
