What you'll learn in this illustrator class:

Bring your creative ideas to life with Adobe Illustrator, the industry-standard vector graphics software, used by designers and illustrators who want to create digital graphics, logos, illustrations, and original typography. This workshop is designed to get you up and running with Adobe Illustrator in just one day. The focus will be on step-by-step instruction leading students through the most important tools and concepts in Illustrator.

Takeaways

Learn the basics: how to open a file, image trace, add text, use layers and brushes.
Cover vector line art illustration using the pen tool.

Prereqs & Preparation
This is an introductory course designed for first time and beginning Illustrator users. No prior experience with Illustrator is required for this class.All students must be able to bring a laptop to each class (Mac preferred). You will need to have Adobe Illustrator version CS4 or higher already downloaded on this laptop for the start of class. The full version of Adobe Illustrator CS6 or the free 30-day trial version of it can be found at http://www.adobe.com/products/illustrator.

School Notes:
For students enrolling in 12 week part time and immersive classes, it is not recommended that you book more than one class simultaneously.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

So far, of all the courses I have taken at GA, this one was the best! Camille is an extremely wonderfully gifted teacher. Definitely give any class she teaches a try!

The course was great! As a beginner, I felt comfortable with the class setting and the professor. The way Camille taught was effortless. She explained step by step Adobe. Her experience allowed me to understand the concepts presented. The one thing I wish this class had was more time in doing the exercises. Overall great experience!

Not only was the class amazing, but the building was amazing - as were the people on staff. Free coffee and tea was available and even some food. The course was very long, from 10 AM to 6 PM with only an hour break... so naturally the free coffee definitely helped. The space is very open, clean and great for designers. I learned so much in just a single workshop, and the teacher was incredible at making sure everyone was keeping up to pace while still cramming in as much info as possible. I also like how we left with PDFs and links to other online guides and tutorials. I definitely recommend this class and GA!

This class was amazing and way exceeded my expectations. In one day, it taught me all of the basics of illustrator and I can proudly say i feel like I know how to use the program and use it well. Camille was very thorough, knowledgeable, patient, and kind! I'd recommend to anyone!
