This course is designed to enable students to gain practical advanced skills in mixing and mastering using Pro Tools. Students will learn how to examine numerous mix techniques such as delays, reverb, compression, equalization and tempo maps that are unique to different styles of music. The students will also learn the application and monitoring of critical listening to mixes and add character to the mixing using various techniques. Moreover, the students will multiband compression during mastering and master mixes using limiting and equalization. Students who successfully complete this course will be able to skillfully and creatively mix and master different styles of music.
Note: Classroom location listings are also posted outside the CAPS office and the lobby of the 17 Lexington Avenue building.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
