Danielle Lessovitz

Danielle Lessovitz is a San Francisco-born writer/director in film. Her work explores marginalized communities and often makes use of non actors. She is based in New York City and works internationally in countries such as Italy, Ecuador, Brazil, Canada and China. Trained in documentary film at Northwestern's prestigious Annenberg School of Communications she discovered a passion for screenwriting and directing through her documentary work. 

Her work has been screened at a number of international film festivals including Clermont-Ferrand and Torino International Film Festival. She is a recipient of the Ben Wasserman fellowship for her studies in the graduate film program at NYU's Tisch School of the Artsand is MacDowell Fellow. Her current feature script Mobile Homes which she cowrote with director Vladimir De Fontenay recently finished production in Toronto staring Imogen Poots and produced by Madeline Films. She has recently participated in the Torino Frameworks Film Lab for her new project Port Authority and is currently a film production instructor and Head of Film Bureau at at Rutgers University.
