Adriana Salgado was born in Bogota Colombia. Before becoming a professional tango dancer, Adriana was a fitness instructor for several years. At the same time she began to dance Tango, she started her career of Modern Languages Teaching with emphasis in English, at La Salle University, in her hometown Bogota.
She has been a professional dancer and teacher of Argentine Tango for over 16 years. With background in classical ballet and gymnastics, she went to study Tango in Buenos Aires under auspices of renowned tango masters in 2001 and 2005. International stages include United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Aruba, Argentina and her native Colombia.
She arrived to the United States in 2007 and since then she has successfully performed in New Hampshire, Boston, Portland Maine), New Jersey, Miami, Ohio, Michigan among others. In New York City her performances include: NY Tango Festival in 2007, "Tango Intimo", in 2008,"Tango Connection" and "Tango Noir" in 2008 and 2009 and "Tango por Ellos", in 2009, and “Mientras Tango”, in 2010, 2011 at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center in Queens, Stardust dance Weekends.
She has also performed at the the most recognized Tango social of New York like “La Nacional”, “All Night Milonga” at the studio, “La Fayette Grill among others. Her most recent achievement was at the New York Hustle Congress in 2011, where she and her partner Orlando came in first place at the Open Dance Professional Division.
