Alison Kinnaird is considered one of contemporary glass’s leading engravers Alison Kinnaird was born in Edinburgh and lives in Midlothian, Scotland. Dividing her time between her two careers as a wheel engraver and a professional Scottish harp player, Alison was recognized for her contribution to artistic and musical spheres in 1997 when awarded an MBE. Alison maintains an active exhibition and commission practice and her work is held in a number of major public collections, including those of the Crafts Council Collection of Great Britain, the Victoria & Albert Museum and The Scottish National Portrait Gallery for which she completed a major engraved window commission in 2011. Edison Osorio Zapata was born in Venezuela to Colombian migrants, but spent most of his youth in Australia where he trained in the culinary arts. This skill took him to Japan, where he opened a restaurant in Tokyo. In Japan, he developed an interest in art and pottery, which brought him back to Australia to study at the Canberra School of Arts with a major in glass.
