Filippo Fossati

Teaches at New York School of the Arts

Filippo Fossati is a writer and an art-dealer born in Turin, Italy. Coming from a family of artists, art historians and art dealers, he started working in the artworld at a very young age.  He started his first publishing enterprise Il Quadrante in 1983 and opened his own gallery in Turin in 1988.  He has been the director of a number of galleries and founder of art magazines such as Mostre e Musei, Contemporanea, Impresa per l’Arte, Ground Art and Culture, Inside. Since 1996 he has been the co-owner of Esso Gallery in New York, and has organized more than three hundred exhibitions in private and public spaces worldwide, working with artists of great renown. Among other activities, Mr. Fossati currently manages artist’s archives and studios and he is an advisor to many international private collections.
