Robert Burch began working with glass in Atlanta, GA at the age of 16 while, still in high school. After graduation he went to work for Tadashi Torii, a Japanese artist, for two years. After several years studying underneath Tadashi Robert relocated to Seattle where he has enjoyed being able to work with many artists with a wide variety of skill sets including, most influentially Martin Blank. In the time span of five years Robert served as a gaffer, cold worker, lead shipper, and metal worker In Blank’s studio while also working for Team Chihuly and other Seattle studios. Robert is currently living and working as an independent artist in the small town of Carbondale, CO.
