Teaches at Stepping Out Studios
ndiggo Twins (www.indiggotwins.com) is comprised of multi-talented identical twin sisters Mihaela and Gabriela Modorcea – New-York-based, Romanian-born American professional actresses, Grammy nominated singers/songwriters, dancers, choreographers, music producers and fashion designers. The twins have been trained in piano, guitar, and traditional and modern dances since the age of 6. The Indiggo Twins debuted at the age of 12 and were released Europe-wide by Sony BMG; Indiggo’s songs have been featured throughout over 20 countries.
Mihaela and Gabriela graduated with honors from the prestigious National University of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography (UNATC) of Bucharest where they studied modern, traditional dancing and acting with renowned directors Francis Ford Coppola, Roman Polanski, K. Zanussi.
Mihaela & Gabriela played the leads in the award-winning musical “The Two Orphans” and in other theatre plays following which they attended acting courses in Cologne-Germany and New York. In the US, they guest starred on popular TV shows and films such as Law & Order: SVU, The Tyra Banks Show, The Happy Hour, No Love in the City, Van Wilder 2 (The Rise of Taj), as semi-finalists on America's Got Talent (out of 200,000 acts from all over US). Indiggo’s composition LA LA LA is featured and credited on the multi-platinum and 4-time GRAMMY award-winning album "Watch The Throne" of Jay-Z and Kanye West, specifically on "Murder to Excellence" which is widely considered and reviewed as "the centerpiece of the album". Mihaela and Gabriela's compositions are inspired by the Romanian folklore. Jay-Z’s & Kanye West’s “Watch The Throne” (see booklet) and the New York Times named Indiggo Twins “Ambassadors of the great Romanian tradition” and the twins’ LA LA LA composition "A Gem: A moving sample from the Indiggo Twins" (New York Times).
A number of top music producers have written with and for Indiggo Twins including Swizz Beatz (Beyoncé, Jay-Z), Rockwilder (Christina Aguilera), Peter Zizzo (Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne), and Paul Oakenfold (Madonna). Currently Indiggo Twins are in production for their Broadway play "Wicked Clone" (based on Mihaela Modorcea’s 544-page magic realism novel "Wicked Clone or how to deal with the evil" sold by Barnes & Noble) starring Mihaela and Gabriela Modorcea as writers, composers, music producers, fashion designers, choreographers and performers. After having seen Mihaela and Gabriela debut their play at the Ensemble Studio Theatre in NYC, Imagem, world’s largest independent music publishing company, offered them a publishing contract on the spot: http://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwmusic/article/Imagem-Music-Signs-The-Indiggo-Twins-20110810
