Laurie Stern, MSEd, is the Lower School Reading/Learning Specialist at the Riverdale Country School. For the past few years, she has incorporated literacy apps and the ipad into her work to support comprehension strategies with early elementary readers. Stern earned her MSEd from Bank Street College in Reading and Literacy and holds a BA in Child Development and French Language and Literature from Tufts University, Medford, MA. Laurie Bartels, BS, is the Lower School STEAM Integrator (Science, Teachnology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) at Riverdale Country School. Since joining the Riverdale Country School, she has worked with many teachers to incorporate the iPad into their literacy curriculum. Previously, Bartels was the Computer Coordinator and Technology Training Coordinator for grades K – 8 at the Rye Country Day School. She holds a BS from Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University.
