Since early childhood, Brian has always been intrigued by Eastern philosophies and disciplines. In 1990 Brian earned a 1st Degree Black belt in Tae Kwon Do under Master Jun Lee in Raleigh, NC. Brian has also studied Aikido, Kung Fu, and Judo.Through these Martial Arts, the world of meditation was opened. He studied the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana (Love & Kindness Meditation) techniques under Buddhist Vajramati and Triratna NYC group. He also studied The Stages of Meditation, a master course, under Matthew Immergut. He believes a daily meditation practice, sangha (meditation community), and continuous learning, will lead us away from suffering.
