Instructor Miguel

Teaches at The Jalopy Theatre and School of Music

Miguel is a guitarist, bassist and composer from New York City. He recently finished his Masters degree in music at Goldsmiths, University of London and he is back in the city working as a session musician, recording music, and teaching students. While in London, he helped found The Composer Platform– a non-profit organization that works with composers from many musical backgrounds to have their work recorded and performed.

Miguel’s goal is to help each of his students achieve their full musical potential as instrumentalists and as songwriters. He brings a wide range of skills and a passion for many different genres–including jazz, rock, soul and classical music–to his work as a teacher. He loves teaching students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to other professional musicians, and he fits his lessons around his students’ interests and long-term goals.
