Orfeas Skutelis

Orfeas Skutelis is a filmmaker born in Novi Sad, Serbia, former Yugoslavia. He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad with a degree in cinematography and received a MA in Media Studies from The New School in New York. Most of his work is in the field of documentary. Films he has worked on have received international recognition and screened in festivals worldwide. He has also directed and produced TV programs, theatre performances, exhibitions, experimental and short films and music videos. In 2013 he started the independent media production company Polar Elephant. In addition to his work as a cinematographer he was a member of the New Media Center_kuda.org collective (2002-2011), which researched and re-contextualized local critical artistic and media practices, art and media activism and implemented those experiences into a local context through different formats. He was the project and program coordinator and a program editor (2007-2011) at the Youth Social Center CK13 in his hometown and contributed to establishing it as an independent youth organization.
