Jacob Slominski

Teaches at Editing Brooklyn

I graduated from Cornell University with a degree in biology. After college, I taught middle school science before moving to New York City to pursue dance and choreography. To support my dance career, I've worked for nine years as a medical editor; four years ago I began teaching medical editing as a favor to friends. Inspired by the class's popularity, I've recently begun to offer classes in advanced editing, grammar, and MLA and Chicago style. Teaching editing is now my career, and my passion.

I am disabled from a dance injury, and I train in the Alexander technique and Zen practice to help myself and others to live well with pain. I grew up in San Diego, California, and I've been living in Brooklyn for the past decade. I blog at theamazingpainman, and my wife and I are expecting our first child in August.
