Joey Arbagey

Joey Arbagey is Executive Vice President of A&R at Epic Records, a division of Sony Music. He oversees the creative record making process for artists signed to Epic’s roster Camila Cabello, Zara Larsson, AJ Mitchell, John K and his most recent signing Rence.

Joey's work at KMEL-FM Radio led the station to achieve a #1 market share. During this time, he was instrumental in breaking many artist career's including Eryka Badu, Mary J. Blidge, D'Angelo. Outkast and Maxwell, among others.

Joey served as VP of A&R for Arista Records, and subsequently at Island Def Jam Music Group, reporting directly to Antonio "LA"​ Reid and Shawn "Jay Z" Carter. He collaborated with many artists including Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds.

Wanting to play a more active role in production, Joey launched Arbadel Productions, a music consultancy firm. Notable achievements included remixes for Mariah Carey’s album “Emancipation of Mimi,” which garnered numerous Billboard Awards, remixes for Rihanna’s Grammy Award-winning hit, “Umbrella,” and a Grammy for Aretha Franklin’s “So Damn Happy” album, which he worked on side-by-side with the music legend.
