Kambri Crews grew up in the woods of Texas with Deaf parents. Now she's a writer, producer and publicist in New York City working hard for her money so she doesn’t have to go back.
For the last ten years, she has owned and operated a PR and production company specializing in stand up comedy. Clients and projects have included the comedy club Comix, The 92Y, and comedians who've barely touched the stage to her idols like Roseanne Barr.
In 2012, her memoir BURN DOWN THE GROUND was published by Random House. It's all about growing up with a deaf family & her relationship with her dad who is in prison for attempted murder. She's been touring, giving speeches and performing at colleges, libraries, comedy shows and everything in between ever since. Credits include The Moth Mainstage and podcast, Risk! and Mortified; tons of colleges like Rutgers, the University of Texas and the University of Oregon; and dozens of book festivals across the U.S. of A. like Wordstock, The Texas Book Festival and Ohioana.
Oh yeah, and she's optioning the movie rights to her book, starred in a documentary for The Biography Channel & Lifetime Movie Network, wrote and starred in a solo show produced at the People's Improv Theater, acts on stage and screen, and owns this humble little space Q.E.D. so people can show & tell & laugh & learn.
Instructor was very personable, knowledgeable and relaxed environment. Engaged class room! Space was appropriate for this setting and provided coffee, sandwiches, and juice.
Kambri gave great information and tips that could help your business. The workshop that was not only informative but entertaining as well.
Kambri is an excellent resource with a lot of useful information. She's definitely a hustler and that was the main takeaway from this class - tips on how to make yourself stand out and essentially "sell yourself." I love that she provides you with a link to some google docs with all of the class information as well as samples of PR letters, etc. My only wish is that there was more information on concrete things to do to use social media to build your brand. QED has a lot of followers, and she tells you what to do to get those followers to become loyal/subscribe to your site, but not how to build the platform from the ground up when you have few contacts to work with. From the description I thought there would be more information on this but it was breezed over rather quickly.

I have taken several classes on marketing through corsehorse. This was the cheapest at only $30 and thought if I come away with just one thing it will be worth it. To my surprise I learned much more than I expected and stuff that is incredibly useful. Build Your Platform showed the how to and the importance of organizing and building your contact list and get your image out to the public.
Kambri was awesome.! I really loved the class and would definitely take it again if needed. I have learned some old and new things and the information given was definitely worth hearing. You won't regret taking this course if you really need to.
