Teaches at Gotham Writers Workshop

Kody Keplinger is the author of the young adult novels The DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend), Shut Out, Secrets and Lies, and A Midsummer’s Nightmare (all Little Brown Books for Young Readers), and the middle-grade novel The Swift Boys & Me (Scholastic). She has published fiction in Young Adult Review Net, and nonfiction in YA Highway, and Poptimal.

The class was so informative and fun! I liked how well the day was structured and got a lot out of it. I also liked that the class was taught by an accomplished author with lots of experience.

Great . I wish there was more time spent reviewing manuscripts and dissecting what publishers want but overall it was a good day. Instructor was sweet and answered all questions

Kody was a fabulous teacher and I gained a LOT from this course. I was already experienced with creating writing classes, but had taken none explicitly for children's book writing. I appreciated approaching both the lessons and the workshops from that unique perspective, and learned a lot. I'd definitely take another writing class with Kody!
