Winter Miller

Teaches at Primary Stages ESPA

Winter Miller was raised by activist feminist parents in small-town Massachusetts before attending Quaker school. A founding member of the Obie-winning collective 13P, she is best known for In Darfur, which premiered in a sold-out run at The Public Theatre, followed by an SRO performance at their 1800-seat Delacorte, a first for a play by a woman. She traveled with columnist Nicholas Kristof to Sudan's border. Plays include: Spare Rib, No One Is Forgotten, The Penetration Play, Look At Us, Arrival, Conspicuous, the musical Amandine, and a collection of short plays. Her work is published by Samuel French, Playscripts, and found in anthologies. Select fellowships include: Sundance Institute, Cherry Lane Mentor Project, Civilians, Hedgebrook, Playwrights Center, and more. She has written several dozen articles for The New York Times.
