Tomchess is a critically acclaimed multi-instrumentalist who has learned firsthand from studying with Bassam Saba and performing with Pharoah Sanders, Dewey Redman, Hasssan Hakmoun and countless others. Dan Kurfirst is a percussionist who has been pursuing spiritual development through music for his entire life. He has traveled several times to Istanbul, Turkey to study immerse himself in Sufism and the musical tradition associated with it. He is the creative director of the American Sufi Project, and performs regularly in NYC's "World Jazz" scene with Tomchess, Matt Darriau, Brandon Terzic et. al.
