Yaisuri Salamanca

Yaisuri, a Colombian dancer, has been a Principal Dancer for the Tango Vivo and Sonde Luz dance companies. She performed in the Argentina Tango championships in both 2007 and 2008, reaching the five top places in both occasions. She also performed in Chicago for the Salsa Festival in 2002 and in Zürich and Puerto Rico for World Salsa Congress 2004. Among her other accomplishments, she was awarded with the first place at the Official National World Tango Championships in Colombia in 2007, and an official distinction for National and International Achievements by the Medellin City Council in Columbia in 2009. Yaisuri is passionate about teaching, for years she was a staff instructor for Argentine Tango at the Sandra Cameron Dance Center in New York. She has also been an instructor in Argentine Tango, Salsa and Latin rhythms at Tango Vivo Dance School in Colombia, as well as being a dance workshop instructor all over the world including Rio de Janeiro (2011), Miami (2011), Harvard University (2010) Tango Society of Boston (2010), New York (2009) and in Argentina (2008).
