Class Description
Description
What you'll learn in this abstract painting class:
Less about perfect proportion and detail, this class taught by Steve Forster leaves perfectionism behind and embraces conceptualism. It will be driven by artistic processes for creating the human form.
Each week will focus on a new topic relevant to creating artistic portraits with integrity. These subjects will include room lighting, soft light, color tiling, shapes and edges, facial features, backgrounds, and hair. Weekly classes will consist of a discussion of the topic of the week, followed by working on individual paintings simultaneously from the same reference photograph.
At the end of class Steve will offer critiques in which he will digitally draw on an image of your painting. Students are welcome to work in any medium they are comfortable with.
Remote Learning
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Refund Policy
100% refund will be issued up to seven days after the first class. After this, no refund will be issued.
MAKE-UP POLICY
Unfortunately, we do not offer makeup classes. The instructor can tell them what they missed. Most of our classes are taught atelier style. If there is a demonstration during the particular session, after the demonstration the instructor goes to each student to work with them on a one-to-one basis. During this time the instructor can work with the student who missed the previous week, talk with them and explain what to do.
