Description
What you'll learn in this estimating training:
Preparing an estimate and bidding a job is an essential skill for contractors, designers, and others in the building trades. In this course, you will learn to estimate the cost of general conditions, prepare a quantity take-off for the materials to be used in the job, and extend unit prices to prepare an accurate bid using both paper and pencil and cost estimating software.
Topics Include
- Extracting information from the blueprint in order to estimate pricing
- Understanding material count and quantities
- Factoring building materials and methods into an estimate
- Preparing estimate by Square Foot
- Prepare estimate by Unit Price
- Prepare a Lump-Sum estimate
Note: Price includes $20 Registration Fee
Remote Learning
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Refund Policy
Tuition refunds are issued under the following conditions:
- 95% refund when a written withdrawal notice is received 2 business days prior to the first class meeting.
- 80% refund if a written notice is received 2 business days before the second class meeting.
- No refunds are given after the 2nd class meeting.
Please note: For classes less than 200 hours, there is a fee of $25 charged for withdrawals once classes begin.
If you give a withdrawal notice by telephone or otherwise withdraw without written notification, you will not receive a refund.
The school reserves the right to cancel any course or modify the schedule. This can also include cancellation at the first class meeting. In the event of such a cancellation, you will receive a full refund of all tuition and fees.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
