Teaches at Gotham Writers Workshop

Tony Conniff owns and operates his own recording studio where he produces and co-writes with many artists, including Sam Harris (title song for the PBS special "Love Letter to New York") and National Slam Poet Champion, Alix Olson. He also produces, arranges, and records song demos. He has written and produced songs, jingles, and underscores for many clients, including PBS, HBO, HSN, BET, and Time. He scored the feature film Slings and Arrows and produced the title song for "The McCourts of Limerick" on Showtime.

An effective introduction to and practice in songwriting. I took the class with no prior experience at songwriting and no current ability to play a musical instrument. It wasn't easy (nor did I expect it to be), but I ended the class with a couple of songs I was happy to have written and an applied knowledge of several songwriting tools. I enjoyed the varied backgrounds and talents of the other students; rather than being intimidated by those who already had some practice and musical skill, I felt inspired.
