This was pure torture. The class was way too long, I honestly was not learning after 3:00 PM. As I was beyond bored and the majority of the class was falling asleep. I would never do one of these again. Ever! This grammar course gave me a lot of anxiety- I mean to be secluded with 15 other adults reading out of a colorless boring booklet- that specifically I can do on my own. I was expecting the teaching to be more modern -perhaps some videos, colorful handouts- anything to make it more interactive, interesting. ...Class breaks were very short- I would suggest 15 min instead of 10 min breaks. Thank you- I do realized I need so much more than just a single grammar class.

The class gives a good introduction to the various forms of creative writing. The instructor shared concrete tips for effective and evocative writing, which I find useful -- even if it might not be ground-breaking concepts for more seasoned writers.

Arlaina was a wonderful teacher -- smart, strong, funny, organized, engaging. A great survey course on the structure of fiction: character, plot, point of view, voice, etc. (especially for the newbies like me), with interesting exercises sprinkled throughout.
