What you'll learn in this more art class:

Create handmade creatures from around the world as we learn about different cultures through folktales and traditions. Through painting, sculpting, and fiber art we will create meaningful artifacts that students will be eager to share with friends and family.

Learn about the Japanese Legend of the Amabile (a pandemic protector), make Guatemalan Trouble Dolls, create totems, amulets, and more.

What To Bring

  • Please put sunscreen on your child. We will be working under tents but they may be in the sun for short periods of time during break. A brimmed hat, if they wear, would be good.
  • Bring a nut free snack and a beverage each day. It is useful to label your child’s name on their water bottle.
  • If your child forgets their snack or beverage, we supply Pepperidge Farm Goldfish and bottled water.
  • If your child is staying for lunch in between sessions, bring a nut free lunch and an additional beverage.
  • Dress your child in clothing that can handle the inevitable paint splotch. We have smocks to cover their clothing, but this doesn’t guarantee coverage.
  • We will be following current Massachusetts’s guidelines and recommendations in regards to Covid-19 and wearing masks.

We strongly encourage you to pre-register to ensure a space in class. We keep class sizes small to allow personalized instruction and a quality experience for participants.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Classes may be canceled when enrollment minimums are not reached. Classes, workshops and special events not meeting enrollment minimums will usually be canceled two to three days before the start date. A minimum enrollment of 4-5 students is usually required for a class to run. Workshops may need at least 10 enrolled to run a workshop. Please register early to ensure your preferred class will run. Students will be notified if classes are canceled and will receive a full refund.

Tuition is refundable for all classes and workshops; minus a processing fee of $30 if we are notified at least TWO WEEKS prior to the class start date. Cancellations within one week of class start dates receive a 50% refund. Parents/students are responsible for notifying CourseHorse (at [email protected]) that they wish to drop a class or workshop; not attending class/workshop does not constitute an official withdrawal from class or cancellation fees. There are no refunds once a class has begun.

Workshops under $25 and Kids Night Out are non-refundable. We suggest you sell or give your ticket to another student. The new student is responsible for registering their name with teachers upon arrival.

MISSED CLASSES

If a teacher needs to cancel a class, they will make arrangements with students to make up the class at the end of the schedule. The teacher will be in touch with students/parents as soon as they know they need to change the schedule.

CANCELLATIONS DUE TO WEATHER

The Milton Art Center follows the Milton Public Schools schedule for inclement weather cancellations. If the MPS are closed, the MAC will close. We will extend the class schedule to add in the canceled class.
