In the TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) studio class this fall students will study proportion, composition, foreground, and background relationships, by drawing their favorite subjects including animals, landscapes, and families. In the painting and printmaking center, we will create prints from bubble wrap and use them to assemble mixed-media collages. Young artists will learn about where paper comes from, and how it is made then make their own paper and seed bombs. The sculpture center will be open for exploration in 3D building. Louise Bourgeois’s iconic spider sculptures will be our art history lesson, then students can create giant 3D spiders or other objects.
This choice-based class is designed to allow young artists to have fun exploring art-making methods, practices, and art history. This environment enables them to develop a positive interest in art creation and make their own choices in their materials and methods at their own pace which leads to independent, confident artists!
If you would like to switch classes, we can accommodate if there is room in the class. If a teacher needs to cancel a class from illness, etc. there will be a scheduled make up class.
The Center reserves the right to substitute instructors and cancel classes with a full refund if enrollment is insufficient to run the class. Classes cancelled due to teacher absence or weather will be made up at the end of the term, or at a mutually agreed upon time.
We are not responsible for class materials purchased for a cancelled class due to low enrollment.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
