Class Description
Description
What you'll learn in this paper class:
This is a two part colaborative workshop series where you will learn how to make and design your own booklet, cover to cover. On the first morning, create beautiful, multi-hued gel prints with delicate or bold images made with a multitude of textural objects.
On the second morning, we will create a book structure incorporating these gel prints as book covers and end papers to blank journals we will bind ourselves. Take home detailed instructions so you can keep making more! Bring an apron if you have one.
Saturday, Day 1
Gel Print Portion: We will need access to a faucet. The painting studio would work if the workshop fills up. We could also work in the courtyard with some tables. No one will sit down for the gel print part.
Sunday, Day 2
Bookbinding portion: more students can work in a smaller indoor space and no faucet is needed, just plenty of clean tables for materials to be spread out.
NOTE: This class is not eligible for an Art Boost! Scholarship or any discount code.

What To Bring
The materials fee covers:
- Use of the following tools: textural objects, rollers, gel plates, printing paper, testing paper, knives, inking plates, needles, and paper cutter.
- The following supplies will be provided: ink extender, block inks, printing paper, journal paper, adhesives, book boards, glues, thread, and elastic.
Refund Policy
When class/workshop enrollment is below the minimum three days prior to the first day of class, the class may be cancelled. If there is a cancellation, we will contact registered students at least 2 days before the start of the class/workshop by email or by phone.
We will offer students the option to transfer into another class or receive a full refund for the amount paid.
Classes are not refunded due to failure to attend class, planned absences, minor illnesses, or vacations.
If you drop a class:
- If you drop a class at least 8 business days before it starts, you will receive a 100% refund minus a $20 administrative fee.
- If you drop a class between 7 to 2 business days before it starts, there are no refunds. At this point students may receive a class credit if the school is able to replace your seat with another student before the start of class. If this is not possible, crediting will not be offered.
- If you drop a class on or after the class start date, no refunds or credits are possible.
Transfers:
- If you transfer to from one class to another class of equal value or more, there is no administrative fee.
- Otherwise an admin fee will be charged for transfers.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
