Description

What you'll learn in this jewelry making class:

Come learn how to cut a design or pattern into metal by using a chemical etchant. This ancient technique has been used in a wide range of applications through many cultures, from printing plates to medieval armor. The class will cover two methods for preparing metal for etching, PNP (Press & Peel) and using a scribe and scratch technique. Beginning students will learn basic techniques of sawing, filing and sanding and create a sterling silver storytelling bracelet for their final project. 

Note: Some experience with Jewelry making recomended

Class Requirements

  • Experience Level: Beginning to Intermediate
  • Adults 14+ Welcome

Required attire: Close toes shoes and natural fiber clothing 

Note: Students can bring their own personal eye protection, or personal soldering eye protection if they have it


What To Bring

  • Materials Fee covers project materials and consumables
  • Studio Fee covers equipment materials and consumables


Refund Policy

When class/workshop enrollment is below the minimum three days prior to the first day of class, the class may be cancelled. If there is a cancellation, we will contact registered students at least 2 days before the start of the class/workshop by email or by phone.

We will offer students the option to transfer into another class or receive a full refund for the amount paid.

Classes are not refunded due to failure to attend class, planned absences, minor illnesses, or vacations.

If you drop a class:

  • If you drop a class at least 8 business days before it starts, you will receive a 100% refund minus a $20 administrative fee.
  • If you drop a class between 7 to 2 business days before it starts, there are no refunds. At this point students may receive a class credit if the school is able to replace your seat with another student before the start of class. If this is not possible, crediting will not be offered.
  • If you drop a class on or after the class start date, no refunds or credits are possible.

Transfers:

  • If you transfer to from one class to another class of equal value or more, there is no administrative fee.
  • Otherwise an admin fee will be charged for transfers.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
