The San Francisco Acting Academy was founded in 2001 in collaboration with Beau Bonneau Casting and several teachers and actors in the Bay Area. It is our mission to provide the space for both new and experienced actors to hone their camera skills and to make them competitive in the Bay Area acting market by linking our school directly to the industry.
For the past several years we have accomplished this goal several ways:
We have created a comprehensive curriculum geared to prepare actors for the demands of auditioning and working in the unique Bay Area acting market.
Our instructors are the best in the business; not only accomplished working actors and teachers, but many of them are casting session directors as well. They bring a unique perspective of having been on both sides of the casting process.
The successes of the students in our workshops are shared with our casting professionals so that they may be kept abreast of new talent, and in turn are able to give our students the opportunity to audition for roles currently in production.
Our class sizes are kept to a minimum to insure all students in class have ample time each week to work.
All of our classes are held at Beau Bonneau Casting and taught using state of the art camera equipment. Each student will have the opportunity to watch their progress on tape. This unique camera perspective also helps our talented stage actors to make that important transition from stage to film.
Our guest speakers include some of the top talent agents in the Bay Area who are eager to share their knowledge.
We are constantly evolving- through our connections with casting agencies and agents, we are able to spot new trends in the acting market and create workshops or guest lectures that help actors remain competitive in this constantly changing market.
