This workshop will explore how coaches and informal instructional leaders can create spaces where teachers flourish and students thrive. It can be challenging to balance the effective implementation of mandated programs and responsive professional collaboration. We will discuss ways in which professional development can model encouraging, supportive, and challenging contexts for learners. We will unpack the ways in which values and connection can enhance teacher support. Specifically, we will explore how to use data and a strength-based approach to plan school-wide, grade-level, and individual professional support. During this training, participants will begin drafting a plan for one teacher or team.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Changes must be submitted in writing to CourseHorse, [email protected], no later than 6 business days preceding the first class meeting date and are subject to a $15 fee. No withdrawals, refunds, or transfer requests will be accepted after that time.
All courses are subject to minimum enrollment. If a course is cancelled by the College for any reason, students may transfer to another course or receive a full refund less a 5% non-refundable registration fee. the College reserves the right to cancel any course for which there is insufficient enrollment and to withdraw or modify course offerings. Course locations, fees, and instructors may also be changed when necessary.
