Emily Reeder graduated Rochester Institute of Technology’s Metal and Jewelry Design program with Leonard Urso and Juan Carlos Caballero-Perez as her instructors. She learned to work metal both traditionally into fine jewelry, and experimentally for sculpture and function. In addition to her academic experience, Emily is well versed in advanced metalsmithing techniques and creative metal design. Emily currently works as a bench goldsmith at one of Washington, DC’s leading fine jewelry stores. Emily’s specialties are chasing/repoussé and raising. She will be able to offer workshops in these skills, as well as instruction in beginning and advanced level jewelry making and metal design.
