Class Description

Description

This workshop will use the Linklater progression of exercises to play with what is called “prosody” - the music, rhythm, resonance, volume, and pitch of the voice, and to develop how your voice wants to live and speak from different resonating spaces in your body, to find an authentic and fully inhabited character.

At the same time, you will use Viewpoints vocabulary and methodology to explore action and stillness with time and space, along with impulses from physical centers, to develop behavior that transparently reflects how your character communicates and moves through their world.

Each day will begin with a guided Linklater warm-up followed by improvisations utilizing a prepared piece of text.

Please have some text ready that challenges you to find new ways of embodied characterization.
